LARRY O. MEEK

73, of New Carlisle-North Hampton area, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017 after several years of heart failure. He was born in Kingsford Heights, IN on August 4, 1943, son of Felix & Lydia (Wallen) Meek. Larry retired as an engineer on Grand Trunk (DT&I) Railroad after forty years. He graduated from Northwestern High School Class of 1961 and attended Cedarville College for 2 years. He was a member of Christ Chapel Church of God. Larry loved and appreciated his church family, classmates, teachers and coaches, friends and neighbors and his railroad co-workers. Larry loved sports. He played baseball and basketball in High School and College. Later over the years he played softball, tennis and golf. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Larry was a family man devoted to his immediate and extended family. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. He is survived by his loving wife, Diana (Ross) Meek of 53 years who he married May 28, 1964, three children; Scott (Linda) Meek of Cable, OH, Angela Meek of New Carlisle, OH, Gregory (Tania) Meek of Athens, OH; grandchildren, Jennifer Seavey, Jessica Jaques, Chase Meek, Denver Meek, Tessa Meek & Andrew Meek; sister, Mildred Gaye Caplinger; cousin, Roger Meek who was like a brother; many other dear cousins; mother-in-law, ; aunts & uncle; brothers & sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews. We are so very thankful for all of Larry’s doctors who have helped him through the last 12 years. Funeral services will be 2 PM Friday, April 28, 2017 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio with Pastor Bill Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Myers Cemetery.
