Larry K. Jones

Larry Keith Jones was “one wild and craz-y guy” who was born on May 29, 1949 and departed on September 12, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Virginia (Drain) Jones and his loving, perfect wife of thirty years Arnetta (Hubbard) Jones.

He is survived by daughters Nicole (Marcus Brooks) Jones, Michelle (Tony) Dapice, and Melissa (Brett) Smith; grandchildren Gabriel, Cassy, Shelby, Anthony, Will, Chase and Dakota; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Sharon (Mac) Yarbrough, Bonita (Allen) Baldwin, Ric (Brenda) Jones, and Lisa (Leon) Lawcock; siblings-in-law Tena (Doug) Stringer, Phil (Anna) Hubbard, Carl (Lisa) Hubbard, and Thomas (Crystal) Hubbard; sister-in-spirit Theresa Henry, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Larry was loved as their own and preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Harry and Mary (Duncan) Hubbard. Also predeceasing him were brother and sister-in-law, Audrey Hubbard and Alice Sheets, and his nephew Joshua Hubbard. Larry served his country in the United States Air Force in his early years, being honorably discharged in 1968. He was an avid reader and a jokester who loved music and had a passion for the culinary arts. His latest source of joy was the Springfield Farmer’s Market. He spoke highly of the friendship and community he felt among the vendors and fellow attendees. He had lived at Shawnee Place during those last few years and enjoyed the friendships that came along with living in this community. He of course loved it when asked to make desserts for functions. The family extends overwhelming gratitude to all of you! Having spent much of his life working in the hospitality field he accumulated countless friends and acquaintances along the way (especially if they would talk recipes!) He was always quick to strike up a conversation with anyone who would lend an ear, all the better if they were willing to suffer his jokes.

Larry had more love for friends and family than he could ever express, and he was loved beyond his comprehension.

A Celebration of Life will be held for friends and family in Sunbury, Ohio on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the Snyder Funeral Home, Devore Chapel. Memorial services with military honors will begin at 2:00pm.
