Kathryn Simpson

Kathryn Simpson age 77 of Springfield, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 at her residence while surrounded by her loving family. She was born the daughter of Lewis & Elnora (Rockenfield) McNeal on February 19, 1944 in Springfield, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers; 1 sister. Kathryn is survived by her son Rick (Shawn) Nitchman of Florida; daughters Debora (George) McGill of Urbana, Sandra Wren of Springfield, Stephanie (Ray Gideons) Simpson of Springfield, Julie (Shane Griffin) Conley of Springfield, & Mary (Anthony) Jones of Springfield; sister Barbara Frock of Tremont City; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, & a host of friends. Kathryn was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, & friend. She will be missed by all of those who love her. In her spare time she enjoyed working crossword puzzles, crafting, & watching crime shows. Kathryn was also an avid reader & enjoyed reading romance novels, anything written by Stephen King. Most of all Kathryn enjoyed spending quality time with her family. For many years Kathryn graciously donated her time as a member of the Salvation Army, where she could be seen around town ringing a bell at Christmas Time raising money for the less fortunate. Friends & Family may call on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the RICHARDS, RAFF, & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME 838 E. High St. Springfield, Ohio from 11AM – 12PM where the service will begin at 12PM with Pastor Ken Majors officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Tremont City.
