News Death Notice



LEEDALE, Jr., Joseph S. 95, a native of Springfield passed away Monday, February 1, 2016 in Villa of Springfield. He was born December 20, 1920 the son of Joseph S. and Ruth (Snook) Leedale and was a 1939 graduate of Springfield High School. Joe served in the United States Navy during WWII and was stationed in Bermuda, where he met his future wife Grace. Joe then served thirty-five years in the Air National Guard, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He was a lifelong, active member of Fifth Lutheran Church. Joe is survived by two daughters Suzanne (Paul) Kasten and Kathleen Lynn of Springfield; three sons Joseph S. (Cindy) Leedale III of Milwaukee, WI, William (Mary Lou) Leedale of Tucson, AZ, and David (Brenda) Leedale of Springfield; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace on February 1, 2000, a grandson Matthew Leedale; three brothers and a sister. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 2:00 PM in Fifth Lutheran Church with Pastor Carol Gesalman officiating. The family will receive visitors in the church following the service. Private inurnment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum. The family is being served by the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME.
