Joseph K. Fritts

Joseph (Joe) Kevin Fritts, 67, of Springfield, died on Tuesday, January 7, 2023 from cancer. Born in Springfield on January 24, 1956, Joe graduated from Springfield (North) High School in 1974 and worked for the United States Postal Service in many roles, ultimately retiring as postmaster of New Carlisle, Ohio. He loved golfing, gardening, hunting morel mushrooms and he loved to cook. Joe was also an avid reader, mostly immersing himself in American military history. In his retirement, Joe spent much of his time fishing and boating on the Atlantic coast of Florida. He is preceded in death by his father, Harold (“Nino”) Fritts; mother, Phyllis (Dennison) Fritts; stepfather Harold (“Don”) Favorite; and brother, Harold (Steven) Fritts. His survived by his brother, John (Janet) Fritts, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; twin brother James (“Jim”) Fritts, of Springfield; son Joseph (Adrian) Rodriguez-Fritts, of West Hollywood, California; daughter Barrie Lynn (Blane) Savage, of Oakwood, Ohio; and daughter Abigail Fritts, of Beavercreek, Ohio.
