Jonathan Scott Shirey

Jonathan "Scooter" Shirey, 48 of Springfield passed away April 2, 2016 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born in Springfield on March 29, 1968, the son of Robert and Virginia Shirey. Scooter was a 1985 graduate of Springfield South and JVS and was a proud member of VICA. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, tinkering with cars and cookouts. Jonathan had just been promoted to team leader at Morgal Machine Tool Company. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. Survivors include his parents; sons Corey and Frankie; daughters; Jessica and Veronica; brother William Shirey; sisters Laura Stevens and Beth Shirey; several nieces and nephews and his best friend Joe Adams. A gathering of family and friends will beFriday from 6-8 PMin the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. A service to honor Jonathan will beSaturday at 2:00PM in the Memorial Home.
