Jon B. Fordyce

Jon B. Fordyce, 80, of New Carlisle, Ohio died peacefully on July 4, 2024, after a long illness. Jon was the son of Melville J. "Jack" Fordyce and Margaret Likes Fordyce of Cambridge, Ohio, and loving husband of Linda Dotzlaf Fordyce. Jon is survived by his wife, Linda, step-daughter Alexis Ozden, step-grandchildren Eren and Ayla, and several cousins.

Jon earned a bachelor's degree in education at Ohio University and taught art in colleges and public schools. He touched the lives of countless students. He was also a well-known sculptor, with work in collections across the country, including large outdoor sculptures at Case Western Reserve University and the Springfield Art Museum. He enjoyed playing guitar with the "Tuesday Night Pickers", staying in touch with college fraternity brothers, and encountering former students he had inspired and encouraged.
