Johnny E. Sanders, 84, of Park Layne, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023. He was born January 10, 1939, in Dayton, OH, the son of the late George Washington and Gladys Muray Sanders. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Kathryn West and Jeff Clark; grandchildren Joshua (Logan) Clark and Jessica (Matthew) Meyer; great-grandchildren Jace Clark Austin, Ethan, Noah, Hannah, Colton, Carson, Brayden, Paisley and Finlee Meyer; and great-great granddaughter Faith Meyer; many nieces, nephews and several other family members and friends. Johnny is preceded in death by his parents; brother George; sister Elna; ex-wife Carol E. Sanders with whom he maintained a close friendship; and close friend Ben Lux. He had a great love of animals and is preceded in death by many of his fur babies. Johnny owned and operated many of his own business, but was most proud of J.E. Sanders Trucking. He was very proud of and loved his semi-trucks. Johnny loved his time on the road, meeting many road friends and sharing stories with friends and family. He retired from A.A.F.E.S at WPAFB after 32 years of devoted service. Johnny was a U.S. Army Veteran who will have a graveside service with military honors will held Friday, February 10, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Valley View Memorial Gardens, Xenia, OH.
