Johnnie Omega Pyeatt Lytle passed away peacefully on March 3, 2017 at 5:50 a.m. in the Oakwood Village Care Center in Springfield Ohio. She was born in Kim, Colorado on October 14, 1920 and was the fourth of eleven children. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Dudley Pyeatt, Sr. and Eula Fewell Pyeatt; siblings, John Bob Pyeatt, Robert Oren Pyeatt, Mary Lou Pyeatt Daniel, Katherine Pyeatt, Charles Edward Pyeatt, James Finis Pyeatt, and spouse George Henry Lytle.
Johnnie attended Bible Training School in Cleveland, Tennessee for three years and while there met George H. Lytle. For 73 years she was a devoted wife to her husband. She lovingly supported his ministry by teaching Sunday School, playing the piano, leading women's groups, and holding fund raisers during his 41 years of service. Johnnie was a wonderful mother, caring grandmother, adoring sibling and beautiful friend. She was a creative homemaker, gardener, cook and seamstress. Her sense of humor, words of wisdom and knowledge of God's word kept her focused during joyful and difficult times.
Her survivors include her sisters Eula Seyda (David) of St. Petersburg, FL, Martha Buchholz of St. Petersburg, FL; brothers Dudley Pyeatt, Jr of Cleveland, TN, David Pyeatt (Mary) of Queen Creek, AZ; son George Dudley Lytle (Diane) of Wimauma, FL; daughters Carolyn Lytle Clifton (Dr. Gene) of Springfield, and Gaynell Kay Durbin (Mark) of Cincinnati; seven grandchildren, Deana Lytle Thompson, Donya Lytle Woconish, Heather Clifton Hester, Craig Granville Clifton, Andrea Corinne Clifton, Rachel Cupp Bake and Brian Gregory Cupp, and 21 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at the Northridge United Methodist Church, 4610 Derr Rd., Springfield, Ohio, on Saturday March 11, 2017 at noon. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Lunch will be provided for all guests immediately following the service. Committal will then follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Lee University J.D. Pyeatt Scholarship Fund, In Memory of Johnnie O. Pyeatt Lytle, Office of University Relations, P. O. Box 3450, Cleveland, TN 37320. The family extends their thanks to the loving caregivers at Oakwood Village Care Center and to the many friends who faithfully visited her.
