John Eugene Vanover

John Eugene Vanover, age 72 of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 8, 2024.  John was born the son of Carl Sr. & Mary Vanover in Kentucky.  John’s intelligence surpassed that of his teachers, leading him to forego formal education, before dropping out to begin his career as a handyman.  John was a skilled tradesman, adept at turning wrenches and fixing houses.  His passions included hunting, fishing, and tending to his beloved garden, finding solace in keeping his hands busy.  Yet, his greatest joy came from being a friend to all, never knowing a stranger.  Survived by his devoted wife of 31 years, Jeannine Vanover, John leaves behind a legacy of love.  He will be dearly missed by his children Mike, Lori, and Josh Vanover, TJ, Jeff, Kevin, and Angel Bowshier.  along with his cherished grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.  In addition to his immediate family John built a special bond with his neighbor Sean Wright, who was like another son to him.  Their relationship added richness to John’s life and will be remembered fondly.  Preceding him in death were his parents, brother Carl Vanover Jr., and brother-in-law Donnie Wright.  Friends and family may call on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, from 11AM – 12PM at RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME 838 E.
