John Henry Jones

John Henry Jones, 78, passed away on February 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving children and grandchildren. John was born on December 31, 1946, to Woodrow and Audrey Jones. He dedicated his life to his family and served his country with honor during the Vietnam War as a member of the US Army. He married the love of his life, Sharon, in 1969, six months after his return from Vietnam. John's professional life was spent at Ameritech, and he was a lifelong member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. John enjoyed gardening and cherished his time that he spent traveling with his wife. In his later years, he enjoyed playing cards at the local senior center, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought joy to his life. John is survived by his children, Kevin (Christine) Jones, Jason (Angie) Jones, and Jennifer (Ryan) Magsaysay; his grandchildren, Jordan (Katybeth), Taylor (Graham), Rylan, Aidan, Kade, Henry, and Hudson; five great-grandchildren; and his sister, Cathy Gamble. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years, Sharon Lynn Jones; his granddaughter, Grace Anne Magsaysay; his brother, Robert Jones; and his sister, Frances Williams. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 4th, from 5-7 PM at Trostel, Dunbar, Chapman, and Fraley Funeral Home in New Carlisle. A memorial service will take place at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 5th at the same location, followed by a graveside service at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. John's life was marked by his dedication to his Lord and Savior, his family, his service to his country, and his enjoyment of simple pleasures.
