John F. Eckroth, Sr.

John F. Eckroth, Sr., 82, of Springfield, formerly of Lodi, OH, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 15, 2023. He was born in Berwick, PA, on April 5, 1941, the son of the late John T.P. and Mary Eckroth. John loved driving a semi-truck from the age of seventeen until retirement from the Brunswick terminal of Medina Supply in 2011. He also loved his dogs and cared for them and treated them as children. John is survived by his wife of 64 years Carol Sue (Adams) Eckroth; children Bonnie Williams, John F. Eckroth, Jr., Linda (Mike) Winter and Jay Eckroth; sisters Joan (Arthur) George, June Dennis and Martha Geyer; 26 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son-in-law Fred Williams. Private services will be held by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home.
