John Henry Balzer Iii

John Henry Balzer III, 60, of New Carlisle, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, July 17, 2017. He was born February 1, 1957, the son of Charles A. and Peggy L. Balzer. John retired from ODOT as Clark County Manager after 30 years and in retirement worked for Barrett Paving. John could fix anything. He enjoyed classic cars, BMW motorcycles and watching OSU football. However above all else grandchildren and family always came first #TeamBalzer. John is survived by his parents; wife of 18 years Janet A. Balzer; children John Henry (Julie) Balzer IV, Dustin Thomas (Summer) Balzer, Kyle A. (Amanda) Balzer and Samantha Watson; siblings Jane (Michael) Bauder, Jeffrey (Amy) Balzer and James E. Balzer; grandchildren Kale, Kinley, Kylee, Adi, Beckham and Silas; several nieces and nephews. Private services were held by the family per John's wishes.
