Jimmy D. Ashley

Jimmy D. Ashley age 73 of Springfield passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at Atrium Medical Center in Middletown. He was born the son of Dewey & Pearl (Gayheart) Ashley on December 19, 1948, in Hazard, Kentucky. He is preceded in death by his parents; nephew Andy Hamilton; favorite sister-in-law Wilma Ashley. Jimmy is survived by his brothers Donnie Ashley of Springfield, & Clifton (Gayle) Ashley of Enon; sisters Ruth Holloway of Dayton, & Janice Tursi of Nevada; nephews Christopher, Kyle, & Shannon; great nieces Jaidyn, & McKinley; special friends Chris “Butter Beans” Johnson, Karen Gilbert, & Cheryle O’Dell. Jimmy was a proud member of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Army Commendation award for 7 years of faithful service. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors and he loved to fish. Jimmy was a loving brother, uncle, & friend. He will be missed by all of those who love him. Services to be held private.
