Jerald J. Swearingen

Jerald J. Swearingen, 85, of New Carlisle, passed away peacefully at home on June 28, 2024. He was born May 28, 1939, the son of the late Brenner and Vanice Swearingen. Jerald committed his life to Christ on August 31, 1957, and was a member of Maple Grove Old German Baptist Brethren Church, New Conference. He was an avid outdoorsman, including many activities such as hunting and fishing. Jerald enjoyed woodworking, carving birds and ducks for his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Bonnie; children Jill (Wade) Renicker and Brent (Libbey) Swearingen; grandchildren Erika (Tony) Brubaker, Neil (Mandalyn) Renicker, Bryce (fiancée Danielle Hom) Renicker, Shelby (Tyler) Watson, Abigail Swearingen, Addison Swearingen and Alena Swearingen; great-grandchildren Oliver, Flora, Ned, Gretel, Hugo, Toby, and Winifred; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Jerald is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Dale (Joan) Swearingen and Richard (Delma) Swearingen. Visitation will be held July 3, 2024, from 10am-2pm with the funeral service beginning at 2:00pm at Maple Grove Old German Baptist Brethren Church, New Conference, 7524 Agenbroad Rd., New Carlisle, OH 45344.
