Jeffery L. Rowland

Jeffery L. Rowland, 57, of New York City, passed away suddenly Saturday February 11, 2017, after having health issues for several years. He was born April 10, 1959 in Springfield, the third son of William and Dorothy (Grove) Rowland. Jeff graduated from South High School in 1976 and moved to New York City. He modeled for a few years before going to work in the Financial District at the New York Commodities Exchange where he stayed for over twenty-five years, during which time he witnessed the tragic events of September 11, 2001. He later did administrative work on the Transplant Unit at Mt. Sinai Hospital. He is survived by his brothers Barry (Tiffany) Rowland of Springfield, and Garry (Cindy) Rowland of Irvine, CA; his sister Melissa Rowland of Queens, NY; two aunts Mary Hause and Gertrude Grove, both of Springfield; multiple nephews and nieces in Springfield, California, and Connecticut and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. He loved to laugh and had a big heart; he will be missed. Jeff will be cremated in New York. Memorial services will be held in the Scattering Garden at Ferncliff Cemetery on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 12 Noon. The family is being served by Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home.
