News Death Notice

HARRIS, Jeanette "Jean" Passed away on Oct 11th at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, OH. Jeanette was born on May 8, 1924, in Ottowa, Ohio to Emma and Joseph Schmenk. She was predeceased by two sisters; Mildred Meyer and Alice Jenkins and three brothers Rudy, Elmer and Alvin Schmenk. She retired from Elder Beermans in 1986 after 21 years where she worked 17 years in the cosmetics department and four years in the bridal department. Jeanette grew up in Springfield Ohio where she attended St. Raphael Church and Catholic Central High School. She was a member of the Auxiliary Order of Eagles, 321 and a member of Med Lake Garden Club. She attended Sacred Heart Church in New Carlisle, Ohio. She is survived by her husband Paul Harris whom she married in 1996. She was previously married for 38 years to George W. Williams who passed away in 1992. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Mike McKinnon and their family: grandchildren, Leah and Chris Whicker, Nicholas and Tara McKinnon, and Lauren and Josh Kerber; great granddaughter, Camryn Whicker and four great grandsons; Luke Whicker, Benjamin and Luke Kerber and Michael McKinnon. She is also survived by Paul's son Michael and Sandra Harris; their family Elie Harris; Shane and Christy Harris and their four children. Visitation will be 11-1 PM Wednesday October 14, 2015 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio with funeral services at 1 PM in the funeral home.
