FISSEL, Jay Warren 68, a lifelong resident of Springfield, went to be with his Heavenly Father on December 15th surrounded by his family. He was born February 19th, 1947 to Frederick "Warren" and Mary Alice (Van Heyde) Fissel. Jay touched the lives of so many including those at First Christian Church, those he worked with at Navistar, the Heart of Ohio and anyone he ran into at a garage sale. His talkative, outgoing and joking personality will be greatly missed. Jay wouldn't hesitate to give the shirt off his back to help someone out. He never met a stranger and had a passion for Ohio State football, golf, fishing, antiques but most importantly his family and friends. Jay leaves behind a tremendous legacy that will live on through his wife of 45 years Janice (Stevens), children; Stephanie (Chad) Wolfe, Jason (Denise Allaman), Michael (Rachel) and Andrew (Alicia Stocksdale), grandchildren; Isabella, Sydney, Sophia, Lucas, Samantha, Trenton Warren, Brennan, Allison, Xzavier and Layla, brother Stephen (Sonnie), sister-in-law; Jo Ann (Sise), and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his brother Richard, his nephew Jonathan, his mother and father-in-law H. Marguerite (Swigart) and Harold E Stevens, and his brother-in-law Jon. A special thank you to Dr. Kellog, Dr. Umerani, Dr. Sullivan, Dr. Ahmed, Dr. Bashir and the hospital staff at Springfield Regional Medical Center and Miami Valley Hospital for the excellent care they provided. Funeral services to honor Jay will be Monday at 12:30 PM in First Christian Church with Joel Augustus officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 AM till the start of services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the ALS Foundation or First Christian Church of Springfield.
