Jay R. Cook

Jay R. Cook, 63, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born on December 28, 1959, in Springfield, the son of the late Roy and Gayle Cook, Jr. Jay Retired from Snyder Tank Fuel Systems, LLC., where he worked as a welder and was a member of Tankers Local 192. In retirement he drove transport services for Abilities Plus. Jay was an avid bowler and a member of the Clark County Bowlers Hall of Fame. He enjoyed drag racing, running many different cars over the years at Kil-Kare Raceway and numerous other tracks. Jay is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Kay; sons Jay R. (fiancée Michelle Boylan) Cook, Jr. and Jason (Heather) Cook; brother John (Lori) Cook; grandchildren Brendan Cook, Lyric Cook and Mason Sowards. He is preceded in death by a special aunt Marcia Reed and his loving K-9 companion Jack. A celebration of life gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from 4-7pm at Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home.
