Janice M. Burton, 78, of Springfield passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016 following a brief illness. She was born September 22,1937 in Olive Hill, KY the youngest of eight children born to Allie and Lutie (McBrayer) Carpenter. Janice graduated from Olive Hill High School and attended Morehead State University. Janice assisted her husband, Willie in the operation of Burton Realty, was office manager for Burton-Minnick Inc. and worked at Lazarus in the Upper Valley Mall. She was a fifty year member of First Christian Church and belonged to the Women's Town Club. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law James and Marla Burton of Galloway, OH; two daughters and sons-in-law Teresa M. and Kim Harrison of Tucson, AZ, and Lisa Burton-Hughes and Barry Sarchett of Colorado Springs, CO; one sister Vada Lou (Frank) McCoy of Olive Hill; four grandchildren McKenzie Burton, William, Scott and Blake Harrison; one great granddaughter Quinn Burton; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty years Willie M. Burton in 2006; brothers Bellow, Harry, Richard and Ed Carpenter; sisters Eunice Boggs and Florence Bellew. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 - 5:00PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME and for one hour prior to services in church. Janice's homegoing will be Monday at 10:00 AM at First Christian Church with Brian Borton and David Augustus officiating. Burial will follow inRose Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Good Samaritan Outreach Center, 427 W. Washington St., Springfield, OH 45506.
