James E. Oiler, 77, of Springfield passed away Monday, August 7, 2017 in his home after a brief illness. He was born July 30, 1940 in Gallia County, OH the son of Roy and Hazel (Lookado) Oiler. James retired from Decker Meat Packing in Piqua, and was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Springfield. He loved to go fishing and watching wrestling on TV. James is survived by his wife of 34 years, Brenda (Hyatt) Oiler; a son Jamie Oiler of West Virginia; two step sons Phillip Winkler and Greg (Dawn) Hyatt of Springfield; a brother Chester (Elsie) Oiler; two sisters Nellie (Bobby) Jackson of Gallia County and Virginia Hosier of Piqua; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers John and Charles Oiler. Visitation will be Monday from 5 – 7 PM. in RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. The service to honor James’s life will be Monday at 7:00 PM. in the Memorial Home with Rev. Mark Rucker officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clark County Humane Society.
