James J. Mowell

James J. Mowell, 78, of Springfield passed away Monday, August 7, 2017 in Southbrook Care Center after a lengthy illness. He was born November 7, 1938 in Springfield the son of Jacob and Marie (McQuirt) Mowell. James served in the United States Army as a lineman, and retired from Navistar with 41 years of service. He is survived by three daughters Diana (David) Lockhart of Kingsport, TN, Julie Mowell of Springfield and Rebecca (Buzzy) Spicer of Stafford, VA; a brother George (Janet) Mowell; two sisters Rose Eancheff and Mary DeWitt, all of Springfield; seven grandchildren Sarah, Christopher, Samantha, Elizabeth, Jessica, Casey and Nicholas; six great grandchildren Makai, Cameron, Kalleah, Sofia, Ryan and Fallon; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Rhonda Midgley; three sisters Margaret, Cathrine and Anna. Visitation will be Friday from 6 – 8 PM. in RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. The service to honor James’s life will be Saturday at 1:00 PM. in the Memorial Home with Rev. Orbie Estep officiating. Interment to follow in Rose Burial Park.
