Jake Craycraft

September 29, 1955 — June 15, 2021

Craycraft, Jake 65, of Springfield was born September 29, 1955 and became an angel on June 15, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 44 years; Denise (Hogan) Craycraft, son Josh (Dawn) Craycraft, daughter Tara (Anthony Moore) Craycraft, and grandson whom he raised Aaren (Mara) Craycraft. Jake is also survived by several other special grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he held near and dear to his heart; Treyvaughn Whitaker, Avery, Cadence, and Tobias Craycraft, a great grandson Chase Paul, and another great grandchild on the way due November 2021. Jake leaves to cherish several brothers and sisters to include Gary Craycraft, Thelma (Bob) Keyton, Deborah (Ford) Cantrell, Gertude (Don) Burton and Rocky (Sue) Craycraft. He was preceded in death by his brother Don Craycraft. Jake spent his earlier years of life serving in the US Army. After his discharge from the Army he and Denise started their lives and a family together. For several years Jake worked at Bosart (Eby-Brown) as a CDL driver. He then went on to work for Clark County MRDD where he met many people both consumers and co-workers whom he would later call his extended family and friends; including Dee Capper, Betty Moore, and the late John Reed. While working for MRDD Jake took on a volunteer role with the Clark County Special Olympics Bowling Chapter where he donated his time, sharing one of his many gifts with others; his talent of bowling. Jake was an avid bowler and a dedicated Seattle Seahawks fan throughout his entire adult life. If he wasn’t watching sports on TV you could find him looking over his baseball card collection or supporting his grandchildren at their sporting events and extracurricular activities. Jake was also a member of the Local Teamsters. Jake spent his life always caring for others and wanting to make others happy; whether it be with a kind word, his contagious smile, or his witty personality he made sure he left his mark on everyone he came in contact with.
