QUINCY – Jacob Eldon Johnson, 77, of Quincy, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015. He was born on Feb. 23, 1938, in Clark County, Ohio, the son of the late Jacob B. and Editha C. (Hoberty) Johnson. He graduated from Northwestern High School in 1956 and attended Wittenberg University. Eldon was very proud to have served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the Masonic Harmony Lodge #8 in Urbana. He was a sales executive at Pitney Bowes for 27 years, where he was one of the top salesmen in the nation. Prior to Pitney Bowes, he worked at Occidental Petroleum, formerly GreenBelt Fertilizer. Eldon's true passion was farming, raising cattle, and spending time outdoors with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Jacque (Mellen) Johnson; his four daughters, Kim (Keith) Fielder, Lynn Johnson, Kelli (Alan) Kizer, and Liane (Joe) Makin; seven grandchildren, Natasha (Dustin) Buchenroth, Chelsi Fielder, Dana Zook, Darek (Lauren) Zook, Jacob Kizer, Nick Makin and Lily Makin; five great-grandchildren, Karlee, Cale, Graham, Trace, and Grayson; sister-in-law, Pam (Ron) Reaver; brother-in-law, Dale Keiter; cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Bonnie Keiter.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015, at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR AND FRALEY FUNERAL HOME in New Carlisle, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 7, 2015, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial to follow at the New Carlisle Cemetery.
