News Death Notice

SCHREIBER, Helen Campbell Born in Springfield April 5, 1936, passed away peacefully at her home in Columbus on December 22. She was preceded in death by parents John and Orma Campbell, sisters Marian Sanderson and Lois-Carol Campbell, brother Richard Campbell and husbands Joe Heeter, J. Gordon Lewis and Orielden (Bud) Schreiber. She is survived by sister Jean (Jerry) Clark of Fremont, her five children, Susan (Biff) Smithhisler of Columbus, Joseph (Melissa) Heeter of Nashville, TN, Janet (Norm) Bass of New Concord, Nancy (John) Dragani of Columbus and Carolyn (Phil) Collins of Johnstown, sixteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Helen was an educator, retiring after 30 years of teaching in the Dayton, Columbus and Springfield school districts. A life-long learner, she pursued multiple graduate degrees over the course of her adult life. Helen had the soul of an artist and loved to sew, make porcelain dolls and paint landscapes. Although she loved to travel, she could most often be found reading, with a dog or cat nearby. Her love of reading was a gift she passed on to all of her children. She delighted in her grandchildren and great grandchildren, each of whom she treasured for their individual gifts and talents. She loved church and church music, and attended Heritage Free Will Baptist Church. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior as a youth at church camp and is now resting in the arms of her Lord. Friends may call from 12-2 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2015 at Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home, 838 E. High St. Springfield, Ohio, with the Funeral Service immediately following at 2 p.m. Pastor Dr. Tim Stout officiating. Internment at Donnelsville Cemetery, Donnelsville, OH.
