Helen Jane Carpenter

Helen Jane Carpenter, 77, of Medway, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025. She was born on November 14, 1947, in Richmond, IN, the daughter of the late James Robert and Shirley Dee (Ward) Lawson. Helen raised two children while working full-time and obtaining a Master’s Degree of Business Administration from Wright State University. She retired from Meadwestvaco as senior programmer analyst. She is survived by her son Christopher Carpenter; brother Ward (Paula) Lawson; grandchildren Naomi Jones, Rebecca Paige (Zariah Marie-Lynn) Phillips, and Thomas Ray (Makayla Rae) Phillips; great-grandson River Axle Phillips; several nieces and nephews. Helen is preceded in death by her parents; husband Lawrence Carpenter; son Jimmy John Carpenter; and brother Corwin Lawson. Visitation will be held Friday, April 25, 2025, from 1-3PM with the service to honor Helen beginning at 3:00pm at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home. Burial with graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 11:00am at Dayton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
