Gladys R. Forshey

Gladys Regina Forshey, 69, of Springfield passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017 in SRMC. She was born February 25, 1948 in Springfield the daughter of Walter E. and Gladys M. (Mitchem) Palmer. Mrs. Forshey was an avid Elvis fan and Bingo player, and she deeply loved her children and grandchildren. She is survived by four daughters Barbara A. (Steve) Call, Julia L. (Joe) Forshey, Melinda (Robert) Smith and Loretta L. (Daniel) Forshey, all of Springfield; a brother Theodore Palmer; sisters Judith Pillars, Shirley Brown and Jessie Baker; twelve grandchildren Leslye (Ron) Markey, Jaymie (Todd) Fain,Lindsey (Shawn) Paul, Keith (Carla) Coberly, Kyle (Chelsea) Coberly, Nastassia (Joe) Fultz, Nakitta (Jonathan) Carpenter, Joshua Forshey, Stephanie Ervin, Niyah Fletcher, Caedyn Fletcher and Remington Forshey; eighteen great grandchildren Brooke, Breanna, Sophie, Riley, Keith, Jr., Robert, Douglas, Ashlynn, Breydan, Carter, Adalynn, Nazaya, Noah, Jean, Natalie, Caleb, Alden and Todd, Jr.; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; her husband James A. Forshey in 2006; sisters Joyce Foster, Betty Palmer, Bessie Palmer, Rose Palmer and Hazel Hayner; brothers John, William, Ace, Edward, James, Louis, Walter and George Palmer. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME with Pastor Rick Clos officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Gladys’s memory to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.
