Geraldine Webb

Retired Tecumseh school teacher and former New Carlisle resident, died Friday, May 20, 2016 from cancer. She was 83. Geraldine was born February 13, 1933 in Magoffin County, Kentucky. She was the second of four daughters of Hattie Picklesimer and Lones Adams. Geraldine married Doyle Webb of Mayking, Kentucky on August 18, 1953. After receiving degrees from Eastern Kentucky University, the Webbs moved to New Carlisle where Geraldine taught in and retired from Tecumseh schools after 30 years as a teacher at the elementary schools of Olive Branch, Oscar Hawke, New Carlisle and West Lake. Geraldine was a member of the First Baptist Church and Ohio Eastern Star. Geraldine is survived by her children Jan Webb Barnes and Joe D. Webb. Jan and her husband Bryan live in Mason, Ohio and have two children, Jordan and Rebekah. Joe and his wife, Lesley Turner Webb, live in Newport, Kentucky, and have two children, Madison and Sandy. Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Tuesday, May 24, 2016 with the Rev. Jeff Christmas officiating at the First Baptist Church of New Carlisle. A visitation/fellowship will be held in the church immediately following the service. TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR AND FRALEY FUNERAL HOME are in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked memorial contributions be made in Geraldine’s memory to: First Baptist Church of New Carlisle, New Carlisle Public Library or Hospice of Cincinnati.
