George W. Howell, Jr.

George W. Howell, Jr., 84, of Springfield passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017. He was born August 10, 1932 in Springfield the son of George W., Sr. and Mabel (McElwain) Howell and graduated from Springfield High School. George served in the United States Army in the Korean War and retired from Navistar-International. He is survived by three children Kevin Howell, Gigi Zinkhon and Shari (Jeff) Baird, all of Springfield; five grandchildren Michael D. (Laura) Zinkhon, Jessica (Rudy) Zinkhon, Christy Baird, Spencer Baird and Trinity Baird; three great grandchildren Jacob Hoefer, Michael Duke Zinkhon and Sarina Zinkhon. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Ann Howell in 2013. There will be no services. The family is being served by RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME.
