News Death Notice



RODDY, Gary D. 73 of Springfield formerly of South Charleston died February 16, 2016. He was born in Springfield, Ohio on October 7, 1942, the son of William M. Roddy and Anne Roddy Butcher. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Roy, William & Herman Roddy; sisters Grace Morton and Sally Bateman; step father Clarence Butcher. Gary was known for his tremendous love of animals of all kinds. His survivors include his wife of 30 years Sheryl (Sims) Roddy; daughters Maryann (Dave) VanHoose and Nicole Domanek; son Gary W. (Tammy) Roddy; grandchildren Diamond Gabbert & Taylor VanHoose, Sabrina Roddy and Ravante Domanek; great-grandchildren Aaliyahna and Bronson; several nieces and nephews; sister -in-law Pat Roddy and his four legged friends Bug, Sassy and Annabell. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7PM RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Graveside services will be Saturday at 11:00AM in South Solon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are requested to His Hands Extended Sanctuary (Animal Shelter) 1560 Dialton Road St. Paris, Ohio 43072.
