Gary L. Pendergrass

Gary L. Pendergrass, 69, of St. Paris, OH, passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, May 16, 2024. He was born on January 20, 1955, in Urbana, the son of the late Warren Pendergrass and Naomi Cromwell. Gary retired from the Champaign County Engineer's Office. Gary loved fishing, hunting and spending time with his friends and family. Family was everything to him and he made it his life’s purpose to serve, protect, and help them in any way he could. As far as friends go, Gary didn’t know a stranger. Everywhere he went, to whomever he encountered, he treated as friend. Gary is survived by his wife of 50 years Sharon; son Chase Pendergrass; daughters Chelsea Pendergrass and Channan (Will) Pfirrman; grandson Roman; brother Jerry (Tina) Pendergrass; sisters Sheila Hoffman, Mary (Terry Frazier) Pendergrass and Jeannie Eggleston; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Marvin Cromwell, and sister Jackie Smith. A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 1:00pm at the Memorial Shelter House at Kiser Lake, 4889 N State Route 235, Conover, OH 45317.
