News Death Notice



FREDERICK, Freda M. 92, of Springfield passed away Friday, January 15, 2016 in Kobacker House. She was born September 10, 1923 in Madison County, the daughter of James C. and Lillian D. (Givens) Stumbo. Freda was a loving wife, mother and homemaker who loved crocheting, word search puzzles, baking, canning, and working in her flower and vegetable gardens. She was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan, never missing a game on television. Freda belonged to United Senior Services where she appreciated the friendship of Tracy Wickham. She is survived by her four daughters Mary (Bob) Arledge of Marion, IN, Joyce Taylor of New Moorefield, Linda (Mark) Lewis of Springfield and Donna (Rick) Walters of Urbana; seven grandchildren Brian Arledge, Christi Arledge Wells, David Taylor, Leah Lewis Vantilburg, Lauren Lewis, Raymond Walters and Bradley Walters; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence O. Frederick in 1998; brother Thomas Stumbo; and four sisters Nellie Brumfield, Louise Henry, Shirley Howell and Faye Westlake. Graveside services will be held Monday at 1:00 PM in South Vienna Cemetery. The family is being served by RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME.
