Faye Lorene Rogers Cox



83 years of age, passed away peacefully on July 1st, 2017 in Greenville, North Carolina, following a brave and courageous battle with Cancer. Faye was born in Old Washington, Ohio on January 19, 1934, the third of five children born to Everit and Esther Rogers. Faye married the love of her life and best friend, Lawrence Eugene Cox, on Friday September 16, 1956 in Coldwell, Ohio. Together they raised two children, Thurl Cox of Greenville, North Carolina and Sheila Cox Heinl (Husband John) of New Carlisle, Ohio. Faye is survived by her sister Doris Hill of Charlestown, Indiana; Grandson Michael Cox of Las Vegas, Nevada; Grandson Matthew Cox of Greenville, North Carolina; Grandson Matthew Heinl of Springboro, Ohio; Granddaughter Hannah Heinl of Youngstown, Ohio; and Grandson Joshua Heinl of New Carlisle, Ohio. Great grandchildren include Camryn and Presley Cox of Greenville, North Carolina; Aubrey Heinl of New Carlisle, Ohio; and Kinsey Heinl of Springboro, Ohio. Faye attended Cumberland High School and graduated in 1952. Following her graduation, she worked at various occupations, including owning The First Lady Beauty Salon in New Carlisle, Ohio, and later working for Tecumseh Local Schools. Faye became a proud member of Lake Avenue Christian Church for several years before moving to North Carolina. Once established in North Carolina, she and her husband became dedicated members of the American Legion, Post 39. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 6 to 8 PM at Lake Avenue Christian Church. The funeral service will be conducted Friday, July 7, 2017 at 10 AM at Lake Avenue Christian Church. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. Faye would ask that you honor her memory by supporting the Military, West Virginia University, and remember to vote Republican! Many thanks to her doctors and in-home care nurses who made this journey less traumatic and provided her with comfort during this difficult time.
