Ernest L. Bowers

Ernest L. Bowers 72, of New Carlisle passed away May 2, 2023, after a brief illness. He was born in Troy, Ohio to the late Morris & Helen Bowers on February 14, 1951. He was a part of Northwestern High School class of 1969. He retired from St. Regis Paper Co. of Troy. Ernest loved to go to Classic Car Shows and show his many cars over the years. He was a member of Troy Fish & Game and Troy VFW. He is survived by his longtime love, Marlena Gilliam; son, Christopher R. Van Horn; brother, John (Dolores) Bowers; sister, Susan Anoles of Alabama; niece, Jayme Potts and many other relatives and friends. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Karla S. (Wright) Bowers, sister Bonnie Sides, and lifelong friend Doug Massie. Visatation will be held Thursday from 11am to 1pm at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home with the service to follow at 1pm. Burial to follow at Newson Chapel Cemetery.
