EMMA ELEANOR FOWLER
was born February 23, 1924 in Shawnee, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and John Bath, sisters Agnes and Emily, and brothers John and James. After graduation from high school in 1942, she moved to Dayton, Ohio and began a career at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base which lasted throughout World War II. She married Navy Lieutenant (j.g.) Thomas William Zimmerman of Christiansburg, Ohio, on December 25, 1945. Following his death in 1976 she married John Franklin Fowler of Spartanburg, South Carolina in 1983 and remained in South Carolina until his death in 1992. She returned to Huber Heights in 1993. Eleanor worked as an assistant librarian at Wayne High School, and returned to work at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base before retiring. She was active in church activities and programs both in South Carolina and Sulphur Grove UMC in Huber Heights and was a dedicated community volunteer. She loved to travel and enjoyed her grandchildren and her cats. She is survived by son, Thomas William Zimmerman Jr. of Huber Heights; three grandsons Joshua (Christina), Jordan (Sara), and Jacob (Samantha) and five great-grandchildren; and daughter and son-in-law Linda Zimmerman and James L. Morgan Jr. of Omaha, Nebraska. The family will receive friends at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNRAL HOME, 507 West Jefferson Street, New Carlisle OH 45344 on Wednesday from 12-1:30 PM with a memorial service beginning at 1:30 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Sulphur Grove United Methodist Church, 7505 Taylorsville Road, Huber Heights, OH 45424 or Hospice of Miami Valley.
