Cooper, Eldon L., 81 of Springfield passed away Friday, April 28, 2023, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Fostoria, Ohio on August 10, 1941, the son of George and Ada Cooper. Eldon retired as a contract Mechanical Design Engineer from Delphi. He was a very active member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Eldon was a tech guy, he enjoyed reading especially mysteries, woodworking, and helping around the church and the neighborhood. Eldon was a founding member of the lunch group on Friday’s that began at Delphi and has continued over the years. He was known as a kind and gentle man who loved his family and those in his life. Eldon was also a past member of the Elks. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Kenneth R., Marvin E. and Ronald D. Cooper; a sister Betty Searles. Survivors include his beloved wife of 59 years Lois W. Cooper, whom he married April 11, 1964; daughter Connie (Roger) Bechtel; son Michael (Rebecca) Cooper; granddaughter Arin Bechtel; and many nieces and nephews. Services to honor Eldon will be Thursday, May 4, 2023, at NOON in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME with visitation beginning at 11:00AM.
