Elaine Alden, 92, of Springfield peacefully passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017. She was born April 21, 1924 in Springfield the daughter of John A. and Mary E. (Davis) Judy and was a 1942 graduate of Moorefield High School. Elaine was a lifelong member of Fifth Evangelical Lutheran Church, and was an avid Square Dancer. She was a member of the Wright Patters Square Dancing Club and the Alden Kindred of American. Elaine is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law John and Darlene Alden of Erlanger, KY, Bruce and Peggy Alden, and Kevin and Lori Alden all of Springfield; seven grandchildren Brian Alden, Heather (Dr. Brad) Alden-Eilerman, Jarred (Sarah) Alden, Preston (Tiffany) Alden, Amber (Rusty) Masters, Brandon Alden and Jessica Tosi; twelve great grandchildren Kaleb, Rylee, Bayler, Emerson, Tegan, Kaylan, Zack, Addison, Bryson, Lexie, Logan and Izzabel; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Alden; siblings William Cox, Violet Adler, Mary Kay Moak, Alice Ater and Charles Judy. Visitation will be Monday from 12 Noon -1 PM. in the Fifth Evangelical Lutheran Church. The service to honor Elaine’s life will be Monday at 1:00 PM. in the church with Rev. Stephen Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family would like to extend their thanks to Elaine’s daughter-in-law Peggy, who has been her caregiver for the past four years, and other caregivers Tanya and Kristen Shaw, and Betty Poling. Memorial contributions may be made in Elaine’s name to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 Eighteenth St. NW, Washington D.C. 20006-3517.
