News Death Notice



BERENFELD, Edwin L. 86 of Springfield died Monday, January 25, 2016 in his residence. He was born May 27, 1929, the son of Phillip and Violet Berenfeld. Edwin proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from the sign shop at International with 33 years of service. Edwin was also the owner of Ed's Sign shop. He was a member of Local 402. His greatest passion was his great-grandkids, grandkids and riding his motorcycle. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Hester and one sister. Survivors include his daughters Missy (Scott) Steiger and Susan Collins; one sister; grandchildren Brandon Steiger, Mindy Parsley Collins and John Edward parsley; great-grandchildren Kylie & Jocelyn Steiger and Hayden Knight; many nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 5-7PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME.
