DOROTHY J. GOODFELLOW

97, of Springfield, Ohio passed away Monday, May 30, 2016. She was born April 4, 1919 in Springfield, the daughter of the late Joe & Faye (Carter) Hoagland. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Active on the church committees, Sunday School & Bible School, a quilter with the church Quilt Guild and was a member of the DAR. She was a longtime member of the Garden Partners Garden Club, and she served on many regional committees, and won many awards for her plant specimens and floral displays. She loved to garden and could always be found with a shovel and rake in hand, tending to her many beautiful gardens. Her peony bed was her pride and joy. She is survived by her husband of 79 years, Bob Goodfellow; a son, Marshall (Pam) Goodfellow; two daughters, Rita (Jim) Fitzsimmons, Carol (Dick) Dillon; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Vivian Shotwell. Visitation will be 10:30 to 11:00 AM Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the Asbury United Methodist Church, 104 E. Clark St., North Hampton, Ohio 45349 with a memorial service at 11 AM in the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the church.
