Delores E. Craig

Delores Elaine Craig (Nichols) 84, July 27, 1938, of Springfield, peacefully gained her wings, March 26, 2023. In this flight, she reunited with her hubby after 28 years. She was a fun- graceful, big-hearted Mommy, Sister-in-Law, Grandma Dee-Dee, Great-Grandma, and friend who loved fiercely!  A Girls’ Trip to Gatlinburg was always a cherished moment, as she loved to travel. Surrounded by her girls, they made their last journey together, as she met her Lord and Savior at the pearly gates.  Delores lived life to the absolute fullest. She was a Dryer Operator at Ohio Masonic Home for 11 years, in Laundry. Throughout the many years, her genuine, selfless love for people has welcomed many friends into her family circle. She never knew a stranger.  She was saved and baptized in 2016 and loved the Lord. Her favorite pastimes were working puzzles, taking care of her yard and flowers, bowling, and snuggling with her fur babies, Moscato and Coco. She was always with family, which she loved more than anything. Her grandkids have been her joy in late years.  Survivors include, 5 children, Sandra Craig of Springfield, Tammy (Robert) Witherspoon of Springfield, Billie (Dave) Kreglow of Cable, Julia (Lee) Rogers, and son Tony Craig of Springfield, 14 grandkids, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson, Sister-in- Law, Debbie (Leo) Merchant of New Carlisle, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friend Gary Funderburg.  Delores is preceded in death by husband, William (Billy) Craig and her parents Theodore and  Bessie Lute, 6 brothers, and 3 sisters.  Visitation and Services will be held at Richards, Raff, and Dunbar on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, with visitation starting at noon and services starting at 1:00 pm. Officiating the services will be Pastor Joe Parker and Sister Sharon Phillips. Burial at Fletcher Chapel Cemetery. We invite you to wear yellow, as it was Delores’ favorite color.
