David Lee Young

March 24, 1945 — June 16, 2017

Young, David L., 72 passed away June 16, 2017 in the Springfield Assisted Living. He was born in Springfield, Ohio on March 24, 1945, the son of Robert and Thelma Young. He was a 1965 graduate of Northwestern Local Schools. David retired from Navistar with 34 years. He was a member of Vale Road Church of Christ and Local 402. David was an avid sports enthusiast including Cincinnati Reds and the Ohio State Football and Basketball. He had been an assistant basketball coach for the CYO program for many years and was involved in 4-H in his youth. David was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Ann. Survivors include his sisters Marilyn Baily and Sharon Young; nephew Jerry Baily; and a host of friends. Services to honor David will be Monday at 1:00PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME with Jay Yeager officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00AM until time of services at 1:00PM. Burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, South Charleston. Memorial contributions are requested to the American Cancer Society. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.richardsraffanddunbar.com.
