Daniel Lee Wilt, 65, of South Vienna passed away Saturday, November 26, 2016 after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was born August 22, 1951 in Springfield to Charles H. and Doris C. (Wilt) Wilt, Jr.. Dan was a 1969 graduate of North High School and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He learned his trade as an electrician while in the Navy, attended Wright State University, and was a lifelong Journeyman Electrician. Dan was a member of Best Friends Pet Therapy, served as a tutor at the Clark County Literacy Center for several years, was a Poll Worker for the Board of Elections, and was committed to offering help and support to others. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marian E. (Horstman) Wilt; his mother Doris Massie of Springfield; daughter and son-in-law Emily Wilt and Justin Martinson of Chesterton, IN; sisters Carol Honaker of St. Petersburg, FL, Diane (Mike) Trimbleof Springfield, and Shelly (Jim) Boak of Xenia; brother Chris (Deborah) Wilt of Springfield; brothers- and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Charles and his beloved stepfather James Massie. In the hope of continuing to aid and educate others, Dan has donated his body to The Ohio State University, College of Medicine for research.
