CLAUDE EDGAR JENNINGS JR
Fondly known as Edd, went home to be with his Lord & Savior on February 28th, 2025.
The oldest of four, Edd was born July 17th, 1942 in Kingsport, Tennessee to the late Mabel Alice (Johnson) and Claude Edgar Jennings Sr. In his teenage years his family moved to New Carlisle, Ohio where Edd graduated from Tecumseh High School before joining the US Navy. Edd served abord the USS Coral Sea where he was an aircraft mechanic. He proudly worked for three of the four US Armed Forces for over 35 years, retiring from the Army Corp of Engineers where he was an inspector at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
Edd had many hobbies and passions which led him to many travels; and traveling, he loved to do.
Building, remodeling, and HVAC work kept him busy. Constructing many of his own family homes over the years and leading him the start Edd Jennings Construction, where he took on many building projects of various degrees. When he wasn’t busy creating a vision, he was enjoying Americas greatest past time. From playing to watching, baseball was always a part of life, a love that began as a child and continued with a Naval softball team and numerous recreational leagues. For his retirement he was gifted a Cincinnati Reds Dream Week at the Florida training camp. He loved every minute of his time there and earned MVP of the week, leading the team in hitting and runs scored. He continued to play out of Knoxville, Tennessee for a 60 and over league until he was 69 years old and always enjoyed sitting down to watch a Reds game.
Edd is proceeded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Will Wilburn, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He leaves here to cherish his memory; His is wife of 31 years Juanita. Loving siblings, RL (Barb) Jennings, Janice Wilburn, Sherrill (Judy) Jennings. Three sons, Darrell (Marcy), Craig and Claude Jennings, daughter Carrie Jennings (Robert)
Ten Grandchildren; Amanda (Chase), Darrell (Sydney), Macey, Paige, Victoria, Jordan, Caleb, Ashlin, Connor & Elizabeth. Six Great-Grandchildren; Peyton, Paisley, Raelynn, Scarlett, Walker & Briggs. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He remained close to his first wife, the Mother of his children Susan (Mickle) Jennings having known her over 66 years. To know him was to love him, his sweet smile, kind eyes and Tennessee wave will be missed by many friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 7, 2025 from 10 am to 12 noon with the service to follow at noon all at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the New Carlisle Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at trostelchapman.com
