Charles L. Reibold, 98, of Springfield and Sarasota, FL, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016 in Sarasota. He was born May 9, 1918 in Springfield, the son of Charles Michael and Emma Louise (Burkhardt) Reibold. Charles was U.S. Army Veteran serving during WWII. He retired from International Harvester as their longest tenured employee ever, having worked 66 years. Charles was also a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Springfield and Faith Lutheran Church in Sarasota, FL. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Susie Freshour. Charles is survived by his sons Charles M. Reibold and Raymond W. Reibold; daughters Donna "Pat" Hedges, Melodie (Carlos) Ibarra, Jackie (Pierce) Johnson and Johnnie Grumbley; a sister Lucille Huffman; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one niece; and four nephews. A funeral service to honor Charles will be Friday at 2:00 PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the start of service. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.richardsraffanddunbar.com.
