Cathy Kennon

Cathy Kennon age 85 of Springfield, was carried on the wings of Angels to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Soin Medical Center while surrounded by her loving family. She was born the daughter of Howard & Loucinda (Morris) Kennon on July 7, 1937, in Cedarville, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents; stepmother Rona Kennon; son Charles Pennington; grandchildren Beth & Joseph Pennington; great grandchild Cameron Pennington; brothers Neil & Gene Kennon; sisters Betty Geron Baldwin, Pauline Sewak, & Marjorie Dunbar; stepbrother Don Ferrell; stepsister Betty Haemmerle. Cathy leaves behind to cherish in her memory, daughter Debra (Lonnie) Williams of Enon; sons James Pennington of Springfield, & Mark (Amy Prosser) Pennington of Enon; brother Bill (Helen) Kennon of Florida; beloved grandchildren Charlyn (Lee) Cantrell, Aaron Pennington; C.J. Pennington, Ashley Pennington, Brian (Andrea) Pennington, Cathy Pennington, Dexter Williams, & Alex Williams; great grandchildren Selina (Robert) Herrera, Alexis Solis, Lysenia Solis, Coal Cantrell, Emma Cantrell, Ava Cantrell, Ella Cantrell, Jayden Williams, & Parker Williams; great - great grandchildren Aliciana, R.J., & Santino; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, & a host of church family. Cathy was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, & friend. She will be missed by all of those who love her. Cathy was a faithful & longtime member of Greater Life Springfield Church, where she worked in the nursery ministry, was the church treasurer, & was happy to help wherever she was needed. After earning her bachelor’s degree from Wittenberg University, she worked at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy where she retired as a Crisis Intervention Specialist. In her spare time, she enjoyed nothing more than spending quality time with her family & friends, especially her grandchildren. Friends & family may call on Thursday, May 4, 2023, from 5PM – 7PM AT RICHARDS, RAFF, & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME 838 E. High St. Springfield, Ohio. A Going Home Celebration will take place on Friday, May 5, 2023, 11AM at Greater Life Springfield Church 200 Snyder St. Springfield, Ohio 45504 with Pastor Paul Dowdy officiating.
