Carol I. Davis, age 78 of Springfield, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 14, 2024. She was born the daughter of C. Page and Helen (Dickey) Lininger on January 7, 1946, in Woodstock, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband Dorian E. McCleary married on September 27, 1968; second husband John R. Davis married on November 7, 1993; brothers Ralph, Cleon, Wayne, Amos, Keith and Max Lininger; daughter- in-law Mandy McCleary. Carol is survived by her beloved children: Annette Michelle (Scott) Kaufman of Indiana, Katherine Renee McCleary of Missouri, Michael A. (Tracy) McCleary of Springfield and Jason K. (Mindy Baugh) McCleary of Springfield; grandchildren: Christopher S. (Natasha) Bussard, Daniel Erich Bussard, Brandon D. (Rachell) Kiser, Brien C. (Amber) Kiser, Elizabeth D. Deptola, Emma G. Deptola, Madeline R. McCleary, Samuel A. McCleary, Helen P. McCleary, Devin K. (Kyra) McCleary, Dorian E. (Jacque) McCleary and Kirsten K. (Jacob Hively) McCleary; great-grandchildren: Lukas, Isaak, Lillian, Bellamy, Illianna, Jensen, Kase, Morgan, Adelladee, Hudson, Maeleigh and Myles; sisters: Louise Kitchen, Marty (Jim) Fraizer, and Dorothy (Bill) Hanefeld; sister-in-law Becky Lininger, plus, many nieces and nephews along with a host of friends who loved Carol dearly. Carol was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by all those left behind. Carol was a graduate of Triad High School and later graduated from beauty school. For many years she owned a beauty salon operated from her home, then later she obtained a CDL and became a truck driver. Carol was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Springfield, Ohio. Carol was talented at crocheting and all the new moms looked forward to receiving a crocheted baby blanket made with love by Carol. More than anything Carol enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends. A private graveside service is being planned. Arrangements entrusted to RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME.
