Billy J. Leece, Sr.

Billy J. Leece, Sr., 66, of Springfield passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016. He was born June 9, 1950 in Stanford, KY the son of Cecil and Ethel (Head) Leece. Mr. Leece attended the Hustonville School in Kentucky and worked on a farm until moving to Springfield. He worked 29 years for the William Bayley Co. until its closing in 1998. Billy was a member of the Message of Hope Ministries. He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Linda (Hartman) Leece; sons Billy Joe "B.J." (Teresa Worthington) Leece, Jr. and George "G.E." (Michelle) Leece; a daughter Rita Leece; a brother James Leece, all of Springfield; nine grandchildren Lisa, Melissa, Billy Joe III, and Amanda Leece, Joshua and Marcus Wood, Timothy, Dreama and Lindsey Rice; many great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special family friend Paul Daugherty of Junction City, KY. He is preceded in death by his daughter Pamela Leece; sisters Lillian Price and Brenda Leece; and brothers Fred and William Eugene Leece. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 5:00 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME with Pastor Rick Smith officiating. Visitation will be from Sunday 3 - 5 PM.
