Betty Lou Travis, 84, of Springfield passed away Friday, October 28, 2016 in her home. She was born August 9, 1932 in Wytheville, VA the daughter of Russell and Annie (Bowles) Davis, Sr. Betty was dedicated to her family and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was also a nature lover and enjoyed walking in our local and State Parks; she collected angels and was generous to many charities. Betty had formerly lived at Tubman Towers, where she had many friends, and belonged to United Senior Services. She is survived by her daughter Victoria Travis of Springfield; one son Joshua Travis of Dayton; two daughters-in-law Billie Travis of Xenia and Paula Travis of Springfield; a brother Russell James Davis, Jr.; ten grandchildren Steven M.C. (Shauna) Reid, Carrie Lynn (Brian) Shuff, Sonny J.D. Frederick, Kyle S. Travis, Dustin M. Travis, Roger Travis, Ricky Travis, Rodney Travis, Jr., Brandon Dixon and Doyle Dixon; many great grandchildren; two nieces; and friends too numerous to mention. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons Roger Lee and Rodney Lee Travis; and a granddaughter Misty May Travis. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12 Noon – 1 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. The service to honor Betty’s life will be Wednesday at 1:00 PM. in the Memorial Home with burial to follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
