Betty A. Swartzendruber, 78, of Springfield passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 in Essex of Springfield. She was born October 1, 1937 in Loogootee, IN, the daughter of Martin E. and Lola (Mulligan) Bussinger. Betty was a past employee of Mead Corp. and Bank One in Dayton. Her favorite things to do were playing either Bingo, Skip-Bo or Yahtzee with her family. Betty is preceded in death by her parents; sister Lucille Lagle; brother William Bussinger; sons-in-law Robert Manasco and Robert Peterson. She is survived by her daughters Ruth Peterson, Grace Reeve, Sandra Manasco and Joyce (Jon) Myer; son Mike Sendek; brother Jerry (Mary Emma) Bussinger; sister Mary Jean Chestnut and Barbara Wilkins; grandchildren Rodney Burnett, Gary (Stacey) Guisinger, Miranda Waddle, Mark Miner, Matthew (Arryn) Miner, Melinda Miner, Justin Kilcrease, Margaret Myer and Julia Myer; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the crew at Essex for their loving care over the last nine years. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 PM in the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME. A funeral service to honor Betty will be Saturday at 10:00 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Mark Martin officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
