Betty J. New of Springfield, Ohio passed away Sunday May 15, 2016. She was born July 25, 1940 in Keno, Ky. The daughter of the late Thomas & Mallie (Wilson) Hancock. She was strong in her Christian faith. She was a member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church and loved both her Family and her Church family. Betty enjoyed cooking, traveling, gardening and time spent with her Grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Voyce L. New. two daughters and a son-in-law ; Belinda Stewart of Springfield, Oh ; Theresa (Werner) Wilson of Marysville, Oh ; three sisters, Jewell Fields, Margie Anderson of Union City, Ind. and Vicki (Don) Hamlin of Somerset, Ky. Six grandchildren ; Jeremy (Joni) Taylor of Marysville, Oh. ; Amanda Slaven of DeGraff, Oh. ;Matthew (Megan) Taylor of Charleston , Sc. ; Jacob Wilson of Edgewater, Fl. ; Ashlee and Meranda Wilson of Marysville, Oh. Seven great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and neighbors that she loved dearly. Betty was preceded in death by her brothers Tom and Howard Hancock ; two sisters, Dorothy Jones and Pauline Calhoun ; and a grandson Joshua Taylor. Services to honor Betty will be Thursday at 2:00PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. A gathering will begin on Thursday at Noon. Burial to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
